UN (United Nations), 25th Anniversary - 1.5 riyal
The silver jubilee of the United Nations in October 1970 marked a profound milestone in global diplomacy, celebrating twenty-five years since the ratification of the UN Charter in 1945. Established in the wake of World War II to succeed the League of Nations, this anniversary provided a crucial moment for international reflection on a quarter-century of maintaining global peace, preventing widespread conflict, and fostering multilateral cooperation. The milestone was commemorated worldwide as a testament to humanity's collective effort to address systemic global issues—ranging from decolonization and human rights advocacy to international development and humanitarian aid. By issuing commemorative stamps featuring iconic symbols like the universal map emblem and a stylized "25" uplifting the world, nations like Qatar reaffirmed their formal commitment to the shared ideals of international law, state sovereignty, and global solidarity embedded within the UN framework.
